

This research is a classroom action research that consists of cycle I and cycle II, each cycle is consisted by planning, action, observing, and reflecting.This action reserach has the subject of one teacher and 22 students of the sixth grade of State elementary school 1 Kuwu Kradenan Grobogan district. The purpose of this research are (1) to describe the application of pictures media and role playing method to increase the writing skill of conversation text in the sixth grade of SD Negeri 1 Kuwu, Kradenan, district of Grobogan at the first semester, 2015/2016, and (2) to describe the increasing of students’ activities in the learning process. The backgrounds of this action research are (1) the lack of students’ marks on the material of writing a conversation text ,and (2) students tend to be pasive and not confident to follow the lesson.
